Our vacation rental home is located 50 feet from the banks of the world renowned Gunnison River known for its blue ribbon trout fishing, kayaking, and rafting. This lodge-like home is your perfect Colorado home base for year round enjoyment in the Gunnison and Crested Butte region.

The Lodge - This fully furnished vacation property features 2 large stone fireplaces located on the upper and lower levels; upper and lower level decks overlooking the river; open floor plan living/dining area with beamed cathedral ceilings for your comfort and entertaining; fully equipped/modern kitchen; large den with game table, pool table, organ, and piano; 5 furnished bedrooms; 3 bathrooms; laundry room with washer/dryer; cable television, high definition large screen televisions; and high-speed internet. We have a large parking area and plenty of room for two vehicles in our oversized two car garage. We host families and small groups up to 8 people.

NOTE: We apologize but we cannot host families or groups of any kind associated with a wedding. Historically these stays have resulted in our home becoming a gathering point exceeding our maximum guest limit and disrupting the privacy of our neighborhood.

Setting – Gunnison River Lodge is on-the-water so you can fish right out the back door. The Lodge is located just 5 minutes from the town of Gunnison and the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport. Just a few miles downstream the Gunnison River flows into Colorado’s largest body of water, known as Blue Mesa Reservoir where sight seeing, boating, sailing, and fishing abound. Our front yard looks toward Hartman Rocks. If you’re inclined for a game of golf you’ll be excited to know that Gunnison River Lodge is actually surrounded by the Dos Rios golf course where the public is welcome. For those with a little more energy left at the end of the day you might even try biking to downtown Gunnison for a little taste of the wild west.

Nearby – Just a short 30 minutes away is the picturesque town of Crested Butte. Crested Butte features some of the finest snow skiing and snowboarding in the country. Crested Butte is not only known as the "Last Great Colorado Ski Town" it offers an amazing shopping experience with its prominent Victorian architecture within the ever popular Crested Butte national historic district. To help your shopping experience you'll be happy to know that a similar lodge or villa at Crested Butte would cost twice or three times that of Gunnison River Lodge.

Fishing – ESPN recently ranked the Gunnison River as "the best overall freestone trout river in America". The famous blue ribbon waters of the Gunnison River offer trophy Brown, Rainbow, and Cutthroat trout literally within 50 feet of the house. Within 30 minutes drive you can also be on the Taylor River, East River, Spring Creek, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Lake Fork of the Gunnison, or Blue Mesa Reservoir. The possibilities are simply endless. Also, if you happen to stay with us in the September-November timeframe you can catch the Kokanee salmon in the river as they make their way upstream to the Roaring Judy hatchery. (Guest Pictures)

Full Payment of the Lodging Fee due 45 days prior to arrival.

How to Book?

You can book direct with us (Jeff and Beth Turner, Owners).

Simply call, text, or email us. We need your Name, Address, Phone Number, Email Address, Arrival and Departure Dates, and Preferred Payment Method (personal check or credit card). A 3% bank fee is added for credit card payment. We'll email back our rental agreement with your stay details and instructions for mailing your check or paying via credit card using a secure link. We ask that you pay $200 at the time of booking and the balance 45 days prior to your arrival. Email: jeff@lodgeonthewater.com or Phone or Text: 703-964-7533. We always try to respond within a few minutes.

Cancellation Policy - for cancellations made within 45 days of arrival we will do everything we can to rebook your dates. All days re-booked are reimbursed along with the cleaning fee and taxes.
